Friday 21st April
From 3.00pm – Arrive and check in at Premier Inn, Cribbs Causeway, BS10 7TQ.
Please make sure you check your car in for parking on the terminal as you walk through the hotel reception. Also, you need to book a place for dinner for 7pm at the hotel restaurant for the Saturday night and this includes a free breakfast on the Sunday morning, 8am. Please make sure you tell them you are part of the club so hopefully everyone will be sat together. The entrance to the carpark is around the back of the hotel. There will be a Fiat 500 flagpole in the carpark to guide you to us. There is a Shell Petrol Station just down the road opposite the hotel. There are also Morrisons and Asda petrol stations nearby.
6.00pm – Meet in the hotel reception bar for a Meet & Greet. Then convoy over the road to Cribbs Causeway Shopping Centre, for some retail therapy if you choose & you can choose from a large selection of restaurants etc for dinner.
8.30pm – Meet back at the cars for a convoy back to the hotel. We will be meeting back in the hotel bar for a nightcap with anyone who wishes to join us.
Saturday 22nd April
9.30am – Meet in the carpark ready to convoy to a surprise location approximately 30 minutes’ drive away. The journey will take us under the magnificent Clifton Suspension Bridge and tomorrow you will be driving over the suspension bridge. Parking is free on arrival, but there is an entry charge of £10.00pp (£9.00 Seniors). There is a large café on site for breakfast offering a variety of choices. It is indoors but please wrap up warmly as there is no heating. (Please let me know if you would like a Full English Breakfast £7.90 or bacon/sausage sandwich £5.50 so we can pre order – my mobile is 07903 637 230)
1.30pm – Leave the surprise location to travel in convoy to Farrington’s, approximately 40 minutes away. There is a selection of things to do including animals, gift shop, farm shop, butcher, deli, café and restaurant and a fish and chip shop. There will also be a complimentary tractor hayride around the farm for those who fancy a bit of farm fresh air.
5.00pm – Leave Farrington’s and travel back in convoy to the hotel, stopping to re fuel on the way at the Shell petrol station. Then meet in the hotel reception for 7pm dinner. There will be a competition and a prize for the best told joke, poem, or limerick. (It’s not compulsory, but it is good fun).
Sunday 23rd April
8am – Breakfast in hotel restaurant & check out.
9.30am – Leave to drive to Clifton Suspension Bridge, where we will park up before driving over the bridge so we can walk over it. There will be some great picture opportunities. Then a walk up to the engineering marvel of the Camera Obscura and embark on an incredible adventure down to the Giant’s Cave to learn the legend of Ghyston, Goram, and Avona. These are all options for you to choose from on arrival, so you can do it all or nothing at all, it’s your choice. There are some walks around the Obscurer too if that’s takes your fancy rather than the caves. There is also a café on site serving hot and cold drinks with sandwiches and cakes.
12.45pm – Meet back at the café front to head back to the cars all together. Then we will all drive over the Clifton Suspension Bridge (please remember it’s a card payment only of £1 – no cash).
Then we have a drive back to hotel carpark if anyone needs to collect trailers etc. Those that wish too can join us for a drink in The Redwood Barn pub next to the hotel and the day will end around 2.00pm to allow for travelling back to your homes.
NB – If anyone has walkie talkies, they are a good accessory to have for the weekend to communicate between cars.
